July 30 Update

We want to thank everyone who has been vaccinated to date.  As a community (Pays Plat to Jackfish) we have taken great steps to protect ourselves and each other.

Our last planned vaccine clinic will be Aug. 19/21.  If you received your first vaccine on or before June 24 and have not been contacted about a vaccine, please call 823-3828, leave your name, number and date of your first vaccine. For anyone who was contacted but could not attend a previous clinic, we have tried to contact you, please call the above number and leave a message with your name and number.  Someone will get back to you within a week.

The pharmacy continues to provide Moderna on a regular basis and this is interchangeable with Pfizer for everyone 18+. If you have reservations about this, please call 823-3828 and we can discuss options.  For those 12-17 that have not received a first dose and would like to, please call 823-3828.  From a travel perspective we have every confidence that the confusion around mixed doses will be worked out, as already countries have reversed their decision.

After Aug. 19, community access to Pfizer will be greatly reduced, so if you have been waiting to get your shot, now is the time to contact us.

For those of you that are hesitant, please call your health care professional to discuss your concerns.  It is worth noting that with the rise of cases in the United States – Unvaccinated Americans account for 97% of hospitalizations.  While Vaccines do not give you total immunity (there is still a slight chance of catching the virus and experiencing its effect – this is called breakthrough cases) the chances of developing serious symptoms if you do catch COVID-19 is greatly reduced.

The community has done a great job in minimizing the impact of COVID-19 by following public health guidelines and we hope everyone continues with this.  We all need to continue with hand washing, mask wearing and staying home if you are feeling unwell, so we can start to return to normal but continue to keep everyone safe.

Vaccine Update – July 14, 2021

The schedulers have attempted to contact everyone who received their fist dose on or before June 10th.  Many people did not answer or call back.  If you received your first dose on or before June 10th and have not received an appointment – please call 228-1487 between 4-8 weekdays or 11:00-7:00 on the weekend.  We will continue to schedule for our July 22nd clinic until 6:30 pm Sunday night.

Individuals Needing 1st Dose.

Youth, ages 12 to 17 years can still receive their 1st dose from our clinic. Please contact 825-3273 ext. 0 for more information.

We will no longer be offering any first or second dose vaccines to those 18 and over as Stewart Pharmacy in Terrace Bay is now providing vaccinations. We thank you for your understanding as we transition back to providing you the regular care you need.

If someone is adamant, they will only take a Pfizer vaccine, please call 823-3828 and we will put you on a cancellation list – although we will only be offering vaccines monthly moving forward.

It is worth noting that in bigger cities when people book appointments, they do not get a choice nor do they know if they are going to receive Pfizer or Moderna until they are seated in the chair for the needle.  The two vaccines are totally interchangeable.

Accessing Your Proof of Vaccine

The Ontario Ministry of Health has a website where you can access your own vaccination information.  If you did not receive a vaccine certificate or have lost the original, please go to the following link:
