The 2020 Senior of the Year Award goes to Nella Commisso!! Congratulations and thank you Nella for being an outstanding citizen of Schreiber.
The Township of Schreiber and the Schreiber Senior Centre would like to announce that we have received $25,000 from the Government of Canada – New Horizons Program to go towards the COVID-19 Schreiber Senior Centre Project.
This project looks at providing food hamper bags to our Schreiber Senior Centre members and, in partnership with the Schreiber Public Library, provide Ipads for Senior Centre members to loan out from the Schreiber Public Library. This will help to promote computer literacy with seniors in our community and provide a means to engage in virtual activities during the times of COVID-19. The Township would like to thank the Government of Canada for providing us with this funding under the New Horizons Program and we look forward to delivering these great things to the community of Schreiber.
Stay tuned for set dates and times to pick up your hampers from the Community Hall!!
Stay tuned for when the Senior Centre Ipads will become available for loan to our Schreiber Senior Centre members!!
Best Regards,
Dominique Charbonneau | Community Economic Development Manager
Mayor and Council are pleased to present Denise Mulligan as the Township of Schreiber 2020 Citizen of the Year.
Denise has volunteered to keep the youth of Schreiber active for many years, coaching all age groups for both boys’ and girls’ hockey. Denise also coaches soccer, t-ball, and softball during the summer and fall, as well as organizing adult softball games. Denise unselfishly has given her time to the community and is an exceptional role model for the youth.
Congratulations, Denise!
