Schreiber Beach UpgradesPosted on September 5, 2016
The Township of Schreiber is excited to announce that infrastructure upgrades have commenced on Schreiber Beach: As part of our partnership with Trans Canada Trail (TCT) and the Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy (LSWC), approximately $90,000 will be allocated towards the project over 2016 and 2017. Upgrades are not limited to but include the installation of a new composting toilet, bear-proof garbage cans, new picnic tables, new signage and a new signage kiosk.
Furthermore, we are very excited to announce that the Schreiber Signature portion of the project is now underway: The Schreiber Beach Gazebo will be transformed to create an interpretive experience using the front and back of the gazebo panels. The interpretive panels will tell visitors the story of Isbester’s Landing and its transformation into the community we know and love today. The panels will include a “You are Here” map of the Schreiber area as well as a second map showing the LSWT Northshore region. On the backside of the interpretive panels, historic photographs of Schreiber heritage will be featured.
The Township of Schreiber invites all residents to visit the Schreiber Beach to check out some of the already installed upgrades. The completion of the LSWT Schreiber Beach access point upgrades is set for the summer 2017.
